Large scale deployment of Solar began in 2010 with policies of government of India’s favorable policies. Hence seeking this as a new challenge Sterling and Wilson stood up and formed the solar division in 2010. The tale begins with the commissioning of 1 MW rooftop, NDPL New Delhi in November 2010, and since then it has become an epic with 116 MW commissioned and grid connected projects as of March 2013 and about 135 MW in pipeline.
Since 2010 the organization has accomplished the feat of executing 20 projects in 12 different states of the country. Different working conditions and different terrains in different states give experience which is inevitable and priceless. Moreover the different technology in modules, foundation also makes the organization a pioneer in another aspect named technology. The experience of thin film, mono crystalline, and polycrystalline in modules and different foundation of ramming and rafting type leads the organization to provide best solutions and services to the customers. Another factor is time. The time plays a key role in solar projects. Sterling and Wilson executed its largest plant of 36 MW in 115 days. A 25 MW plant was completed in 4.5 months and some projects of over 5 MW have been executed in 3-3.5 months. This not only proves the organization’s efficiency of on time execution but also makes resource mobilization and project management its forte. The design part is another important aspect which the organization gets vetted from German, Spanish and in house engineers to get the best results.
