The Union minister for labour and employment Mallikarjun Kharge will lay the stone of the project on September 25 in the presence of Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. The estimated cost of ESIC medical college is Rs 637 crore.

"The state government has allotted 25 acres of land for this project. The building would be constructed in two years. First the hospital will be made operative and thereafter the medical college will be established as per Medical Council of India's guidelines," said ESI Corporation's state medical commissioner Dr Rakesh Garg.

The project is located at Bihta Village, 40 Kms. from Patna.
