Sterling & Wilson succeeded in a major breakthrough in securing the Medium Voltage Distribution Phase I project of the biggest steel behemoth of India – SAIL for their Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) 2.5 MT expansion project. This project covers Design, Engineering, Project Management, Supply, Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Performance Guarantee Test. This was secured against a stiff competition from BHEL, Siemens, L&T & Areva. This critical contract is a clear stamp of acceptance by SAIL & MECON of the capability of Sterling & Wilson Ltd to execute technology oriented critical turnkey projects in Steel Plants. It shall open up vistas of business opportunity and acceptance of the company to the Industry sector in general and Steel Plants, in particular, at this strategic juncture when Steel Industry is poised to take a big leap in near future with Mega projects in the pipeline.
